"Wisdom Rickshaw" - Indian Week

As part of the India Week Hamburg 2024 is presented by the Convenit e.V. association in cooperation with the Central Council of Indians Hamburg (ZIH) the interactive project “Wisdom Rickshaw”. The aim is to build a bridge between generations and cultural backgrounds, to promote dialogue about India's diversity and cultural heritage and to strengthen appreciation for older people and their experiences.

Convenit e.V. is using two wisdom rickshaws for the “India Week Hamburg” a. In every rickshaw there will be a wise personality sitting at the front and there will be a free seat next to it. Visitors can sit next to the wise personalities to enter into a dialogue, ask questions, seek advice or simply share stories and experiences.

The wise personalities represent the rich life experience of India. Not only will they share their personal wisdom and experience, but they will also offer insights into India's fascinating culture and history. These interactive rickshaw rides offer visitors the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of India's cultural diversity and the wisdom of the older generation.

The project pursues several goals:

1. Cultural Exchange: It promotes the vibrant exchange of knowledge and experiences between generations and cultures to create a better understanding of India's cultural heritage.

2. Appreciation of the elderly: The wisdom and life experiences of older people from different cultural backgrounds are honored and respected in a special way.

3. Promoting cultural diversity: The project celebrates India's cultural diversity by presenting the wisdom and experience of grandmas and grandpas from different regions.

4. Dialogue and understanding: The Wisdom Rickshaws offer a unique platform for people of different age groups and cultural backgrounds to enter into dialogue, learn from one another and develop understanding for one another.

The project "Wisdom Rickshaw - India Week Hamburg" will be a lively enrichment for the week of events by promoting cultural diversity, intergenerational dialogue and the appreciation of older people in one context.
